Why ATS matters
Most large companies use ATS to filter resumes. Keep formatting clean, use standard headings, and avoid tables for core content.Checklist
- Use a common font (Arial, Calibri, Times, etc.)
- Standard section headings: Summary, Experience, Education, Skills
- Submit as PDF unless the employer requests DOCX
- Use plain bullets and avoid text boxes for key content
- Include keywords naturally from the job description
- Use dates in a consistent format (e.g., 2022–2025)
